Car Accidents
Motor Vehicle Crash Operator Report
Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c. 90, § 26) requires drivers involved in a crash resulting in injury, death, or property damage exceeding $1,000 to file this report with the RMV within five days of the accident.

Request a Crash Report
To obtain a copy of a police crash report, you can request one through the RMV’s online service center or through the law enforcement agency that responded to the accident.
Small Claims Court
Small claims court handles disputes of $7,000 or less and provides an informal, inexpensive way to resolve certain claims without an attorney. The easiest way to file is through the state’s online guided tool.
Workers’ Compensation
If your employer’s workers’ compensation insurer denies your claim or fails to act within 30 days of your injury, you can file a claim directly with the Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA).

Social Security Disability
If your Social Security Disability (SSDI or SSI) claim has been denied, you have 60 days from the date of the denial notice to appeal. The appeals process has multiple stages, each with its own form.
